Ang Panata!! =))

Natural na kultura nating mga Pilipino na gumawa ng panata at magdasal sa panahong kailangan natin ng tulong at gabay. Pero masasabi talagang iba sa ating mga Pilipino ang pagdadasal na kinaugalian na nating gawin araw-araw sa ating buhay.

Pinagdiriwang ngayon ang Quaresmakung saan 40 days nating pinagdiriwang Lenten Season. Siguro ito marahil ang isang bagay na tumutulong na gabay sa ating pang araw-araw na gumawa ng mga matitinong bagay.

Kagaya ng sabi sa misa nung Ash Wednesday ni Father Reyes sa Binondo Church, mayroon tayong 3 bagay na dapat tandaan sa mga panahong ito: 1.) Do Charitable Works, 2.) Communicate more with God and Last, Fasting and Abstinence. =))

Ayun.. Makikita sa mga larawang ito ang pagpapanata ng mga Chinese and Filipinos na pagdasal sa Krus at paglagay ng kandila upang simbolo na rin ng panata. =))

Chinese New Year Celebration 2010 v.06: The Chinese Charms!! =))

Ayun.. So do you believe in Feng Shui? Well, probably many of you do believe in Feng Shui. Isa na rin ito sa nakagawian ng mga Pilipino na sumunod sa mga chinese astrology and especially the charms that most of the people wear for luck.

At yun, I came across the street of Ongpin and saw these different golds, charms and jade, I think. Haha.. Maganda at kaayaaya tingnan ang mga charms na ito sa ating mga mata.

Chinese New Year Celebration 2010 v.01!! =))

Well, this would be my 1st of many blog entries about my Chinese New Year Experience at Binondo, Manila. Haha..

Kagaya ng sabi ko nung isang araw, tatagal ito ng 1 linggo or more pa kasi damin ko nakunan at sayang naman. Kaya ito. Haha.

Kung pumunta kayo nung weekend sa Binondo, for sure dami nyo nakitang mgva chinese dragons and mascots and especially mga nakakabinging fireworks kung saan sinasabayan ng sayaw ng mga dragon. Kaiba talaga ang experience ko ngayong Chinese New Yearf dahil nakapagphoto-walk ako ng solo kumpara last year na super limited lang ang time kol para kumuha ng mga litrato. Haha

Ayun.. Makikita dito ang mga dragons and tao behind those.

Market, Market, Market!! =))

Sa Pilipinas, maraming market ang iyong makikita. Natural na sa mga Pilipino na bumili sa mga palengke dahil hindi lang makakamura, minsan mas sariwa pa kesa sa big supermarkets. Masasabing magulo nga minsan subalit maraming mga istorya ka ring makikita na siguradong iyong mapg-iinteresan.

Kagaya sa mga kuha ko litrato along Ongpin ulit, makikita ang mga taong nagtitinda ng prutas at mga pampaswerte para sa Chinese New Year. Haha.. Nakakatuwa lang rin na napakaraming mga bagay kang makikita at madidiskubre.

Try niyo rin minsan pumunta kung di pa.lolz.. Haha.. Basta ngayong nalalapit na Chinese New Year kahit di man mapunta sa Tsina, at least nandyan naman ang 2nd hoemtown ko, Binondo. Haha.

The Castañas Story!! =))

Ayun..Nakatikim na ba kayo ng castañas.. Haha.. Well, talagang gustong gusto ito ng aking mga kapamilya.. Okay naman ang lasa pero hindi naman ako nagcrave.Haha..

Ayun..nakunan lang along sa kalye ng Ongpin itong mga vendor ng Castañas at pinapakita dito kung pano nila hinahalo at pinapainit at pinapasarap para na rin sa kanilang mga suki. Mahirap ang proseso pero siguro naman sulit ang ibabayad sa mga pagkain na ito..ogulay..haha..

Basta try niyo na lang..

Give Back!! =))

Nakinig ba kayo ng misa ngayong araw? Ayun, nakwento lang ni Father Jerome sa Binondo Church kanina na mabuting maging generous tayo sa ating mga kapwa dahil mas malaki ang reward na maibabalik sa atin. Ganyan din ang napag-usapan namin sa kotse ng pamilya na kung kaya din naman tumulong edi gawin mo na dahil si God na ang bahala sayo. Haha.

Ayun, kagaya sa litratong aking nakunan along Ongpin St. sa Binondo, makikita ang isang matandang nag-aabang lamang sa tulay at nag-iintay na may maghulog ng barya na marahil ay magsilbing pambili na rin ng kanyang pagkain sa araw na iyon. Nakakalungkot lang isipin na matinding paggutom ang nararanasan ng ating bayan habang ang mga nasa posisyon ay walang ginagawa kundi ang pagnanakaw. Kaya sa darating na eleksyon, please do VITE WISELY!! =))

Ang Istorya sa Ongpin ( The Ongpin Story XD) !! =))

Have you ever been to China?? Well, we have that here in the Philippines though it's just a street. But if you are there, you could really feel the presence of China for there are a lot of Chinese mestizos there especially every shop that you would see on that street which is mostly owned by them, Chinese. haha

Well, I have a Chinese root in me, 1/4 actually..haha.. I have been going here to this busy street. I think it is now time to reveal the street name which probably guessed it already.. Ongpin it is. It's fun going here for you'll see a lot of attractions especially the people for everyone here is energetic and quite busy.

I guess you'll probably enjoy going here as much as I do as I pass by here everyday!!

2010: A New, New Year!! =))

First of all, I would love to greet all of you guys, a Happy Happy New Year from the bottom of my deep heart. =))

As you all know, we have finally welcomed the year 2010 on our lives. I think not only me but all of us wished that 2010 would be if not the best but a better year than what happened to us this past year, 2009. It is sad to leave all the good memories from last year but life must go on and that there is still a huge road ahead for all of us that would be very good. =))

So here's my very first post of the year 2010 and of course, it will be all about New Year, New Year and nothing but New Year. Haha.. I wouldn't post things like fire crackers exploding in the sky but it still is one of the main features of Filipinos during new year, having firecrackers being exploded( right term ba to?? haha ) for the coming of the new year.

But instead, I would post things on how some or probably most Filipinos do during this last time of the year. We, Filipinos are known for appreciating "FENG SHUI" stuff. It's all about luck through the use of things or probably some manners in some things. Well, when you pass by Chinatown / Ongpin in Binondo, Manila, you would definitely see a lot of people, especially Filipinos and the Chinese. A lot of people would love to buy some charms for luck and some ornaments that could be placed at home for good fortune. It is kinda cool having these things around. But just like what I've heard from the mass earlier this morning, it is not about this "FENG SHUI" stuff that would bring us fortune but God is the one who gives us all of those. Prayer to God is more powerful than anything in the world.

But of course, Fireworks and some "Turotots" would never be gone during New Years. Just like what I have described earlier, Filipinos love to make a lot of sounds during the celebration of New Year!! =))
